But before we get our happily ever after, you know there must be DRAMA!! And boy, did Lina deliver! We get to learn what happened to Anna’s parents…well, at least her mom. Her dad is very much shrouded in mystery. We learn her true last name, the village she came from, why she was turned loose into that forest in book 1, and so much more!

I don’t want to give away all the juicy parts of the book, but there are some SERIOUS plot twists in this book that had me screaming! Lina is so good at catching you off guard! But by the end, we totally get our happily ever after…for at least one couple. One couple out of our four-some is permanently severed 😱. You heard that right. You’ll have to read to know who!

And if you want to know if this slow burn ever amounts to anything, I’m so very happy to report…. my lips are sealed. You’ll have to read to find that out, too! But it’s delicious, either way!”

I’ve loved reading about Anna and Hadeon, seeing them both grow as people and leaders, fight through adversity, fall deeper in love, and find their happiness. “After Hadeon went through his transformation in Cursed City and put Anna through hell, I guess it was only fitting that Anna return the favor this time around. It was really interesting to see Anna’s change and find out a little more in depth what Hadeon must have experienced. It was kind of disappointing how the change happened – I was imagining a nice little scene after the wedding where it would happen, but the scene in the garden where Anna says “goodbye” made up for it. I loved how Anna returned to her home village to face her past and discovered more about her power as a witch. I’m so curious to know more about her purple mist, especially since Halya had never seemed to see such powers. Anna’s powers must be really unique and I wonder if that’s related to her father. And I want to know who her father is!

And I just want to say that I love how Hadeon loves Anna. I just love him, that’s all.”

“This is the last instalment of the aforetime trilogy. It was a great conclusion to the series. It starts off right after the second book. There is drama, mystery, magic, and some wild plot twists! A great read that makes you wish for more. The independence of the FMC is admirable, and you cannot help but love the supporting characters. The HEA is not a predictable one which I absolutely loved. I nearly choked while reading a plot twist trying to eat at the same time, so warning do not eat while reading lol. This was a refreshing read and I cannot wait for more books from this author!”
